Thursday Cottage preserves
Founded in 1963, Thursday Cottage has stayed true to its roots, crafting their products in small batches with care and tradition.
Now under the Tiptree brand, each jar continues to be hand-poured, allowing for generous pieces of whole fruit. Their curds are gently mixed in traditional kettles - a slow process that reduces air incorporation, resulting in a smoother, more luxurious texture and a truly premium product.
Tiptree have 550 acres of farmland where they grow lots of their own fruits. Sustainability is at the heart of their operations: the factory is powered by 7,000 solar panels, and the land is enriched with wildlife-friendly hedgerows. They also partner with the Essex Wildlife Trust, installing owl and kestrel boxes across the estate to support local biodiversity.
