A special, scaled down edition of Anglepoise's Original 1227 Desk Lamp, with a new Buttermilk Yellow colourway inspired by places in the National Trust's care. Designed in collaboration between Anglepoise and the National Trust, every lamp sold helps look after those places for everyone, forever.
First launched in 1935, Anglepoise's Original 1227 Desk Lamp pioneered a new, unique form of constant spring technology created by British automotive engineer, George Carwadine. With a moveable shade, changable height and twistable arm, the Original 1227 Desk Lamp made finding the right lighting for homes, interiors and workspaces as easy as flicking a switch.
The unmistakable form and function of the Anglepoise Original 1227 has been combined with colours typical of British mid-century homes to create contemporary lighting solutions that are both traditional and timeless. This scaled down version in Buttermilk Yellow is reminiscent of the indulgent creams popular in such mid-century homes and suits a variety of interior styles, while being space conscious and useful for bedsides and hallway tables.
Complete with a quality gloss finish, subtle National Trust oakleaf branding and sleek chrome fittings, every Anglepoise lamp sold through the National Trust's shop helps look after the special places in National Trust care, now and forever.
To date, Anglepoise have donated £35,000 to the National Trust. This money has helped look after The Homewood, an early 20th century villa designed and loved by British architect Patrick Gwynne. Aligned with Anglepoise’s vision of the future, The Homewood represents a commitment to design as a lifelong companion, just as an Anglepoise lamp is passed from one generation to the next.
