Tim Glynne Jones Born in the Fifties Book

Tim Glynne Jones Born in the Fifties Book

Reviews (4)

The Fifties is a decade often overlooked, overshadowed by the war that preceded it and the Swinging Sixties that followed.

But the Fifties saw significant changes in the way people approached life. Teenagers, rock’n’roll and space exploration were born, Queen Elizabeth was crowned and Everest conquered.

This book vividly portrays life in the Fifties and reawakens childhood memories of a time when Britain was on the move.

5 stars Fond memories of the Fifties Written by

I bought this from one of the NT shops. I look with fondness at the pictures and have many happy memories of growing up in England. School milk, school dinners and no technology to stress us when it goes wrong.

A friend bought me this book for my birthday and it brought back many wonderful childhood memories. Some of the photos are priceless! In fact I loved it so much, I've bought several copies for other friends, as they make an ideal, reasonably priced gift. Highly recommended.

5 stars Stocking Filler Written by

Bought this for my husband who was born in 1950, so saw the whole decade. I am sure he will find this little book interesting.
