The National Trust and the Public Catalogue Foundation have collaborated to produce catalogues of all oil paintings in National Trust houses across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
This catalogue includes pictures and captions of around 2,000 paintings located at National Trust properties in Buckinghamshire, Suffolk, Norfolk, Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire, including the collections at Ickworth, Belton House and The Rothschild collection at Waddesdon Manor. The oil painting collection at Anglesey Abbey is the largest of its kind in any National Trust property.
Interesting paintings are described from Oxburgh, Blickling and Felbrigg Halls as well as those from more unusual properties such as the King’s Head Inn in Aylesbury, Mr Straw’s 1930s terraced house in Worksop, The Workhouse in Southwell, Tattershall Castle, and Hartwell House Historic House Hotel in Buckinghamshire. Paintings by Andrea del Sarto, Cuyp, Hobbema, Velázquez, Boucher, Bonington and Tissot are all included.

5 stars Christmas gift Written by

The book arrived in good condition as far as I can tell - I didn't take it out of the wrapping, because it's a gift.

2 stars Excellent catalogue shame about the service and packaging! Written by
This series of catalogues produced by the Public Catalogue Foundation is an excellent national resource and those produced by the NT are of great interest recording those paintings both on display along with those not seen by the public. The feel of the covers is extraordinary: almost rubbery in texture which makes them easy to hold. Unfortunately, the NT Shop doesn't seem to know how to pack items for dispatch and mine were damaged. I recommend the catalogues but also that you try somewhere else when purchasing!
