Ginger has been domesticated for so long that the wild plant no longer exists. It is used in a huge variety of ways, including the candied young stems, which have been eaten in England since medieval times.
The hidden image on the box shows the dining room at Anglesey Abbey, Cambridgeshire built in about 1236 and survives from the original Augustinian priory. Buying these biscuits helps us uncover that past for the future.
Once opened store in a sealed container in a cool dry place and consume within two weeks.
