National Trust Spring Magazine 2018

National Trust Spring Magazine 2018

Reviews (2)

Our members’ magazine is published three times a year and is our ‘thank you’ for helping us to look after special places. Full of behind the scenes stories and beautiful photography, we hope it will inspire you about all there is to discover and be part of with the National Trust.

In the spring issue, we launch ‘Women and Power', the Trust's 2018 national programme marking 100 years since some women were granted the vote. Introduced by gender equality campaigner Laura Bates, the feature explores the stories behind the struggle for suffrage at Trust places.

Learn more about Bess of Hardwick, the matriarch and businesswoman who rose to the top of Tudor society.  Find out how Trust gardens have been shaped by plant exploration, past and present. And outgoing Director-General Helen Ghosh shares her highlights from her time at the helm.

We also invite you to have a little of what you fancy, as we discover how the Trust is aiming to cater for all at our cafes and tea-rooms, and try two of our top ‘free from’ recipes at home.

With my first real opportunity to experience the a taste of summer this year, I sat in the sunlit garden to read the Nat Trust magazine & News/Events Yorks/North East. There is just so much on offer in the summer and the magazine is not only informative, it is also well written and very engaging with masses of colourful imagery. I’ve really enjoyed the read; I’ve entered a few competitions on the spot and highlighted some places and events of interest. I do hope I can make more of my membership this year; but I also consider that I’m ‘backing a good cause’ by being part of the National Trust ‘team’. I love Countryfile and I think it’s very fitting that you are working in partnership. Potter and Ponder is a triumph; I’ve really enjoyed understanding why it was established and I applaud the vision and success. The magazine is definitely worth the huge effort that I can see has been involved. It has reminded

I thought the Spring issue of the Magazine had some interesting articles including several items about women and their struggle for suffrage. The photos that won the competition are amazing and there were some fabulous recipes
