A natural habitat for ladybirds and other beneficial insects.
The ladybird and insect tower has a central chamber filled with natural material. There are many holes drilled at an upward angle for the insects to reach the insulated and safe inner chamber. If required, the roof panel may be removed for inspection or cleaning.
To encourage occupation of the tower by ladybirds you can smear ladybird food on the entrance holes, or the tower may be used to release larvae with food.
There is a ground pole provided, so the tower is easy to site into lawns, sheltered flower beds, wooded glades, or even in planters. It is attached to the reverse of the tower for transport, but can be unscrewed and inserted in base.
Site out of prevailing winds in a warm location.
The roof and base are oak, larch, or similar naturally durable timber, so no preservative need be used as it may be harmful to the ladybirds.
