Hidden in a wooded valley on the edge of Exmoor, the Arlington Estate has numerous extraordinary collections, inside and out. The house is crowded with treasures to suit all interests, from model ships and rare 18th-century Beauvais tapestries to an amazing assortment of shells. At the stables you can discover the Trust's internationally important collection of more than 50 horse-drawn carriages, from a grand state chariot to a sombre hearse. Today Arlington is recognised as being one of the top spots in Devon for wildlife, famed for its rare lichens and bats.
