This landscape brooch has been handmade in Silver by Julie Bailey, winner of the National Trust Open Call 2018 in partnership with the Crafts Council.
Lincolnshire based Julie Bailey, whose Jewellery atelier is named PaperMetal, was selected as the winner at the finals held at National Trust’s Tyntesfield.
Julie’s exclusive handmade hallmarked silver jewellery range is inspired by formal garden design, featuring embossed patterns taken from box hedges and striped lawns.
Each piece is unique and handmade featuring copper details and reversible elements, marrying traditional silversmithing techniques with contemporary design. This landscape brooch is one of the statement pieces by award winning designer Julie Bailey.
Julie Bailey has handmade this piece in her Lincolnshire studio from silver with copper detail embossing the silver with a design inspired by the formal gardens of the National Trust.
The rear of the piece is as much a work of art as the front, with an handmade clasp and artisan detailing. It measures approx. 6.5cm wide and 0.5cm thick with a copper edge and pin clasp.
To prevent tarnishing the silver, wear your silver jewellery often or keep it wrapped in a soft cloth.
