Hughenden Manor Guidebook

Hughenden Manor

Reviews (2)

Hughenden Manor offers a vivid insight into the charismatic personality and colourful private life of the most unlikely Victorian Prime Minister, Benjamin Disraeli, who lived here from 1848 to 1881. The formal garden has been recreated based on the original designs of Mary Anne Disraeli and there are beautiful woodland walks surrounding this fascinating country home.

5 stars Exceptional house Written by

A very worthwhile read , very well set out and described. This book is a comrehensive guide to Disraeli and Hughenden Manor. Excellent.

4 stars Fulfilled my hopeful expectations Written by

As the Hughenden Manor Guidebook advertisement includes only a front cover picture and scant product information, I took a chance and ordered it. I am delighted with the guidebook as it is nearly everything that I hoped it would be. Both an introduction to Disraeli and a guidebook tour of Hughenden Manor. Many color photographs of the house interior rooms as well as images of Disraeli and his life and times. Accompanying textual content is excellent. Although at times the text describes a part of a room or furniture not pictured. I plan to visit London soon, and hope to visit Hughenden Manor. But, as travel outside of London may be difficult for me, having this thorough guidebook is the next best thing. Well worth the purchase.
