Columbian Fairtrade Roast and Ground Coffee

Columbian Fairtrade Roast and Ground Coffee

Columbian Fairtrade Roast and Ground Coffee

The Story

Made especially for the National Trust our Columbian fairtrade coffee is mellow and toasty.

Classic Colombian coffee at its best. A medium roast rich with citrus notes and toffee sweetness with a light, nutty finish.

The discovery of coffee is often attributed to the popular story of Kaldi, an Ethiopian goatherd.

He noticed that his herd became livelier after eating the plants red berries, so he tried them himself.

Energetic and excited, he took some beans to a nearby monastery, where a disapproving monk threw them into a fire.

A delicious aroma arose, so the beans were raked from the ashes and put into hot water, making the world's first cup of coffee.
