Great as a gift.
Paul Jenkins first started his career in art in the early 70's sculpting in wood and then found himself drawn to sculpting in clay and wax.
Paul's inspirations come from his love of nature, especially animals and many of his pieces are inspired from direct observations of wild animals in their natural habitat.
The raku technique, an ancient firing process originating in Japan, lends each piece a unique quality and creates an interesting crackle effect on the glaze. It takes approximately one week to produce one sculpture.
Paul uses a specially formulated clay which is sculptured and fired three times in a kiln with the final firing being the raku possess that produces the unique finish.
