Made especially for National Trust, our butternut squash chutney is an autumnal treat packed full of succulent pieces of butternut squash.
This exclusive recipe is the perfect accompaniment to cold meats and pies.
Made for us in small batches by an award winning artisan producer in the heart of the West Country. They utilise handmade, traditional yet innovative recipes and cooking methods coupled with good quality ingredients. Each batch is slow cooked to allow the flavours to mature.
Squashes or gourds have been cultivated for over 7000 years, with new varieties constantly being bred. Butternuts were first grown in Massachusetts in the 1940s and named for being 'smooth as butter, sweet as a nut'.
The picture on the label shows an amazing variety on display at Calke Abbey, Derbyshire, a fascinating property your purchase will help look after.
