Blackcurrant Curd

Blackcurrant Curd

Blackcurrant Curd

The Story
Reviews (3)

Made especially for the National Trust, our blackcurrant curd is deliciously rich and indulgent.

Made by hand in small batches to traditional recipes, our curds are perfect to use in cakes, puddings, tarts or simply heavenly on hot buttered toast.

Traditionally made in small open pans and hand-filled into jars. Made exclusively for us in the East Anglian countryside using only the finest and freshest ingredients.

In the Early Middle Ages, before hospitals existed, people looked to monasteries for healing. Monks would grow herbal remedies in their gardens, with blackcurrants among the plants believed to have medicinal properties.

One of the best curds I've ever tasted.

5 stars A perfect curd Written by

This is spectacular! Lovely colour, texture and tasty. Takes you back to a simpler life and reminds me of childhood, when people made jams and curds at home. It tastes homemade and it is wonderful with bread, cheese, scones and so on. If you want a spread that tastes like actual fruit and has a tang and fruitiness long forgotten - then try this.

Bought a jar of this at Speke Hall. Delicious. Particularly nice swirled through greek yoghurt.
