Stevensons of Norwich specialise in the design, manufacture and installation of standard and bespoke mouldings for interior and exterior use.
They also restore and repair historic plasterwork including the use of lathe and lime plaster. The company has been established for 27 years and does business in over 25 countries across the world.
The Stevensons of Norwich range of National Trust fibrous plaster cornices launched in June 2009. The range comprises 48 off-the-shelf cornices.
Their designer visited over 20 National Trust properties to measure cornices for inclusion in the range. After consideration patterns were selected from:
- Hatchlands Park, Surrey
- Clandon Park, Surrey
- Mottisfont House, Hampshire
- Fenton House, London
- Carlyle’s House, London
- Mompesson House, Wiltshire
- Saltram, Devon
- Stourhead, Wiltshire
- Erddig, Wrexham
- Croft Castle, Herefordshire
- Berrington Hall, Herefordshire
- Attingham Park, Shropshire
- Killerton, Devon
- Calke Abbey, Derbyshire
- A la Ronde, Devon
The range is divided into four periods spanning approximately 1700–1830. Advice will be offered as to how to size cornices to suit available dimensions. Buyers, therefore, will be confident both as to period and proportion when making their selection.
The Stevensons’ National Trust range of cornices is faithful to the originals and therefore authentic.
